About the painting:
This oil painting features Shree Ram ji, Sita Devi, Lakshman ji and Hanuman ji together with Lava and Kusa☺️ At the GLAC Studio, Shree Ram ji has just started his journey in Denmark on this 120 x 150 cm canvas.
This product is an art print of that original image hand-painted by the artist Gomathi Siva Sankaran.
The Ramayana:
This painting is definitely inspired by the great epic Ramayana and the great leader Lord Shree Rama. As one tries to understand this epic, one naturally comes across the fact that the epic is equally about Lady Sita and her endeavours. Hence, the name Sitaramam was chosen.
The most commonly available or well known image is of Lord Shree Rama's coronation ceremony, which is called Shree Rama Pattabhishekam. Taking that image as a starting point, the artist wanted to include Sita and Rama's children - the twins Lava and Kusha. Instead of the royal background that can be seen in coronation cermonies, the artist decided to have a natural background.
About the effort:
The overall work took 154 hours, involving about 6th layer of painting, wherein, you will get to see minute details. The post production work has taken about 24 hours of effort so far. The overall work directly related to the preparation of the painting took around 3 months and the same ended on the 5th of July 2024.
